the filmmakers
Rachel Nanstad (director, producer, editor) grew up in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Her early memories include seeing the Reed Sisters on cable access TV.
She now lives back and forth between Knoxville, TN and Oakland, CA. and works as a professional editor, videographer. Rachel enjoys singing and playing guitar in a classic Country band.
Her first short documentary Saving Lou is a true story about a cat who got his head stuck in a jar and the people who saved him.
Inspiration for the doc came from conversations between Rachel and her childhood friend Christopher Shirley. Growing up in Oak Ridge, they both were fascinated by the Reed Sisters on TV. Chris shared her curiosity as to what happened to the sisters. His discovery of an old Reed Sisters video encouraged Rachel to start this documentary.
Lots of other great people are helping along the way--all to be acknowledged when it is finished...
